張引教授致力推動跨領域的人文、社會科學及計算機科學研究,並積極參與國際及本地的跨界別合作。其研究領域包括電腦媒介傳播、計算社會科學、數字文化參與以及社會指標研究。他的研究成果發表在國際學術期刊及書籍,並曾在國際學術會議上獲得獎項。
張教授是香港特區大學教育資助委員會(教資會)傑出教學獎得獎者。目前為大學全新跨學科課程(文理及科技學士 -自訂主修)擔任課程主任。在2019至2022年期間,他曾擔任新聞系數據與媒體傳播專修課程主任。
張教授在香港中文大學取得傳播學博士學位。他是中大香港亞太研究所榮譽研究員,也曾是荷蘭阿姆斯特丹大學媒介研究系訪問學人。
