Hu An employs a mixed-methods approach to study how information crosses national borders under various constraints and forms of manipulation, shaped by both emerging technologies and political power. He received his Ph.D. in Journalism and Media from The University of Texas at Austin. Prior to his academic career, he worked as a journalist in both Hong Kong and Mainland China, and was a recipient of the Hong Kong News Award.
